Katie Elliott, Creator
About me: In my dream world (where I admittedly am most of the time) everyday would consist of art, travel, reading, writing, and good red wine. When I’m not busy dreaming up ideas for Dakini Creations, I also enjoy fantasizing about being a professional female soccer player, choreographing hip hop dances, and rescuing people while on horseback – but not all at the same time. I really love nature and the planet and am doing my best to honor and preserve it everyday. Find me on Facebook.
Artist Statement
Katie Elliott received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Lutheran University where printmaking was a favorite subject. After school, Katie journeyed around the states, living in Colorado and Washington before settling in Santa Barbara, CA. Once landed she became interested in acrylic painting that reflected her passion for yoga, meditation and spiritual inquiry. Always looking for new ways to communicate her love of spirit and nature, she then enrolled as a student of oil painting under Nancy Taliaferro and found a new passion for oils. Katie draws on her love of travel and photography for her inspiration and often paints from photos that she has taken.
Some of her work can be found in her Etsy shops:
KatieElliottArt: An Etsy shop where original paintings and printmaking can be found for sale along with prints of past pieces.
L'Amour Du Papier: An Etsy shop dedicated to the Love of Paper. Find beautifully stamped and embossed notecards or some of her printmaking pieces and photography turned into stationary. Wholesale pricing is available.
Dakini Kate: An Etsy shop where all the rest of her fun, handmade goodies can be found.

As for the name 'Dakini Creations':
A Dakini is a tantric deity described as a female embodiment of enlightened energy. Sometimes the term is translated poetically as “sky dancer” or sky walker.” A Dakini may act somewhat as a muse or inspirational thought form for spiritual practice. Dakinis are energetic beings in female form, evocative of the movement of energy in space. Some say a Dakini comes from the Paradise Worlds.
